Anthony Love Recognized with the Bebie Leadership Award
From the Access Fund
"We are proud to recognize Anthony Love as America’s outstanding activist for the cause of preserving climbing access and the climbing environment. Anthony has illustrated his leadership with the recent acquisition of the Rumbling Bald West Side Boulders in North Carolina and has been instrumental in climbing management planning for Laurel Knob and continued access to the privately owned Asheboro Boulders. Anthony leads the Carolina Climbers Coalition with perseverance and passion, helping to build partnerships and a strong community of climbers dedicated to protecting and stewarding the places we cherish."
Rumbling Bald Adopt-a-Crag
Many thanks to everyone who came out in the less than ideal weather to clean up the boulders and work on the trails. We still need your help to pay off the loans.

South Carolina Climbers: A Call to Arms!
For those of us who call the Palmetto State home, NC tends to have our “home crags” with Crowders Mountain, Rumbling Bald and Pisgah often less than a few hours drive. Despite SC possessing its own equally impressive cliffs and boulders, many of them are off limits or at best “sensitive” due to ambiguous or unspecified rules governing their use.
As we all know climbing and especially bouldering are becoming ever more popular and bringing much needed economic support to our states’ rural areas. The time is right to seize on this momentum and advocate for SC's own resources.
To really ignite our cause, I’m calling for all fellow South Carolinians to please attend the CCC Spring Meeting Saturday, February 27th @ Lake Lure.

2010 Peregrine Closure Notices
Dear Rock Climbing Community,
It’s the time of year to welcome back North Carolina’s peregrine falcons. While the peregrine falcon was removed from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service’s endangered species list in 1999, it remains listed as sensitive by the Regional Forester and endangered by the state of North Carolina. These designations continue to afford the peregrine falcon protection as the Forest Service and partner agencies work to conserve and protect the species.
Spring CCC Meeting for the General Public
The CCC will be having our spring meeting on February 27th in Lake Lure, NC. This meeting is open to the general public. So please reserve the date on your calendar. Heck, bring your neighbor. This will be a great chance to send some of the classic boulder problems we now own.
As of right now a specific meeting time and place are not set. Check back here for more info soon!
