About the CCC

Why Join the CCC?

Membership is a way to show your support for the CCC, support for the climbing areas you enjoy, and play a role in the leadership of the climbing community. Membership dollars are one of the primary ways to generate funds towards purchasing land and CCC member funds have been directly responsible for the purchase of Laurel Knob, the re-opening and lease of the Asheboro boulders, and the purchase of a significant portion of the West side boulders at Rumbling Bald.

Meetings

The CCC holds 2 membership meetings per year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. Everyone is welcome to attend CCC meetings, and we try to schedule them and have them at climbing areas in prime season.

The Board of Directors meets on an irregular schedule and does most of its work via e-mail and web site tools.

History

The Carolina Climber's Coalition was established January 16, 1995 with the purposes of preserving the natural environment, promoting safe climbing practices and preserving climber's access to climbing areas in North and South carolina. Bill Webster, the first Chair for the CCC answered the most common question from climbers in the Carolinas during the summer of 1995: "What exactly is the Carolina Climber's Coalition?"

Board of Directors

The Carolina Climbers Coalition is comprised of everyday climbers from North and South Carolina, who represent a wide range of backgrounds, climbing styles, and experience. Feel free to contact the CCC. We represent your climbing interests!
