Hawksbill Trail Reroute Day
Hey all-
Climbers, please help save Linville Gorge from being burned!
The U.S. Forest Service considers the native rhododendron and mountain laurel to represent a fire hazard. They propose to burn the entire Gorge multiple times over 10 years to eradicate them! I've been climbing there since 1974, and the presence of this beautiful foliage contributes greatly to the scenery, the hiking, and the climbing. You can help stop this! Sign our petition! go to www.saveLGW.org where you can read more about this and click on Sign the Online Petition at the left.
