OK, everybody, do you want to be an access warrior? Here is your chance to help out from your computer chair for free! The Nature Conservancy is asking for some help getting a grant for trail construction on the Nine Times Perserve in South Carolina. Why is this important to the CCC? The Nine Times Preserve holds a few boulders, but nothing of great climbing interest at the present; however, the preserve borders an area of extreme importance. Just accross the street lies Big Rock, and The Nature Conservancy could be a powerful alli in obtaining access there in the future. The land the Nine Times preserve lies on now was owned by the same company that still owns Big Rock.

Since the site went up, we have asked for your input regarding projects that we should pursue. We appreciate the input that has been offerred and will be developing a strategic and prioritized list. The list will be prioritized based on feasibility of the projects listed (ie whether a given area is for sale, how much an area is being offered for, ect.).

Poplar Tent Boulder Field is a great bouldering area with many high quality boulder problems. It has always had a sketchy access. Right now it seems ok to boulder there as long as you park complely off the paved area so the lance trucks are not impeded. A low key is also vey advisable.

This blog is to raise awareness of this unique gem of a bouldering area where many climbers such as Doug Reed, Cal Swaoger, Tim Fisher, and many others trained and had fun. I would like to see some interest in saving this place for the long haul.

Ok. Here is what I am thinking. Can we compile all known Info on Table Rock S.C.. Route info, park contacts, Topos, etc....  If we can put it together and increase awareness within the climber community, then maybe we can increase our presence as a user group. I am putting out an official request to anyone who may have info or incite into how to start this. Send me every piece of info you can come across and I will see what I can get started.
