On Saturday, March 14th, a group of climbers completed the Looking Glass Adopt-A-Crag. Despite the cold and rainy conditions, Looking Glass Outfitters owner Phil Hoffman organized the successful effort. To manage and reduce impacts on the resource, local climbers and a service-oriented group of students from Maine's Unity College worked on the trail and the high-use staging area at the base of Sundial Crack. The industrious group maintained waterbars along the trail and at the base of the cliff to reduce erosion. They also reinforced the staging area boundary, containing and preventing further impact below Sundial Crack. A big thanks to the climbers who came out and helped! A very big thanks to Looking Glass Outfitters, Phil and Jessica Hoffman, Access Fund and of course the fantastic group from Unity College in Maine! |
