Forest Planning Comments

The Natahala-Pisgah forest planning process ie entering a new phase and comments and plans have been submitted. Thanks to Zachary Lesch-Huie of the Access Fund for spearheading a lot of this work for the climbing community. The Access Fund and the CCC have signed on to the Forest Partnership group's recommendations, which included our language on fixed anchors in the forest, and submitted our own letter specifically addressing the climber desired outcomes in the process. From here, the Forest Service will begin working on the draft environmental impact statement, which will also have a public comment period. We're pleased to see the cooperation and collaboration that has occurred among all the groups involved and very happy to see the fixed anchor, trail and recreational designations that are being proposed.
