The support keeps pouring in from High Country Outfitters
High Country Outfitters of Atlanta, GA hosted a slide show by Mountain Hardware Athlete Dawn Glanc. Dawn is a professional Climbing Guide and was the Women's Champ at the 2009 Ourey Ice Festival. Mountain Hardware was so very generous to donate items raffled off which helped to raise another $205.00 for the Rumbling Bald West Side Boulders Project. The CCC is extremely grateful for the support from High Country Outfitters, Mountain Hardware, the Atlanta Climbing Community and especially indebted to the efforts of Joey Wolfe and Stephen Felker for helping to make these events happen.

SCC contributes $1000.00 towards Rumbling Bald West Side Project
This weekend while attending the Access Fund's national Summit on Opening the Gates to Public Lands, SCC President Paul Morley presented CCC's Anthony Love with a check for $1000.00 towards the Rumbling Bald West Side Boulders Project. The CCC is extremely grateful for the dedicated support of the SCC. The SCC and CCC have had a history of mutual support for each organizations projects! Support from the SCC and the Georgia climbing community show the support from down south is really strong for this project! Thanks so much to the SCC, you guys rule!
CCC Table at Banff Film Fest Raises $400 for Rumbling Bald
Banff Mountain Film Festival rolled through Boone last weekend and
volunteer Heath Bailey was there to represent the CCC at a table.

Big Money from High Country Outfitters' Shannon Stegg Slideshow
Last night's slideshow by Shannon Stegg at High Country Outfitters in Buckhead, GA helped raise $423 for the CCC's Rumbling Bald boulderfield acquisition. Thanks to the Rutherford Outdoor Coalition's $3,000 matching grant that means this event raised a total of $846 for saving Rumbling Bald's west side boulders! Nice! A huge thanks to Joey Wolfe of High Country Outfitters, Shannon for putting on a great show, and all the attendees and CCC supporters at the event.
Updated Whitesides Peregrine Closure Info
ASHEVILLE, NC -- In response to a new nesting location of the resident pair of endangered peregrine falcons, Forest Service is changing the annual climbing closure at Whiteside Mountain from the west to the east side of the cliff, effective March 22 thru August 15, 2010. Specifically, the cliff face east of the “Mainline” climbing route is closed to climbing and rappelling this year. When facing the cliff, east is to the right.
$245 raised at Dixie Rock
The CCC raffle at the 21st Dixie Rock competition in Chapel Hill raised $245 for the Rumbling Bald boulders fund. Special thanks to Townsend and Bertram Outfitters, who donated the tent, and Fox Mountain Guides, who donated 2 $100 gift certificates. We also had 2 membership renewals and got 2 new members at Dixie Rock, bringing our total for the weekend to $370. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone for your support!
