For those of us who call the Palmetto State home, NC tends to have our “home crags” with Crowders Mountain, Rumbling Bald and Pisgah often less than a few hours drive.  Despite SC possessing its own equally impressive cliffs and boulders, many of them are off limits or at best “sensitive” due to ambiguous or unspecified rules governing their use. 

As we all know climbing and especially bouldering are becoming ever more popular and bringing much needed economic support to our states’ rural areas.  The time is right to seize on this momentum and advocate for SC's own resources. 

To really ignite our cause, I’m calling for all fellow South Carolinians to please attend the CCC Spring Meeting Saturday, February 27th @ Lake Lure. 

The Carolina Climbers' Coalition welcomes The Triangle Rock Club to our growing list of coroporate sponsors.  In
celebration of their 2nd anniversary and in corporation with the
Kenneth Kratz Family Charitable Trust, the Triangle Rock Club has
become "Lost ln Space" level Cooperate sponsor of the Carolina Climbers' Coalition, contributing $2500 to the Rumbling Bald Boulders Fund.

Updated Peregrine Falcon closures for U.S. Forest Service properties in North Carolina. Please respect all closures! Disturbing the birds can actually cause them to re-nest and actually extend the closure beyond what it would have been if they were able to successfully nest the first time.

The CCC will be having our spring meeting on February 27th in Lake Lure, NC. This meeting is open to the general public. So please reserve the date on your calendar. Heck, bring your neighbor. This will be a great chance to send some of the classic boulder problems we now own.
