Mike Trew - Northern Mountains Rep
I’ve been climbing for almost 30 years now and love it as much now as my first time out (I’m a lifer). I came to school at Appalachian State and fell in love with the mountains. After finishing up college at NC State I headed back to the mountains and was introduced to climbing and I was immediately hooked. Since I started as a traditional climber (that was our only option back then since our only sport crag was Stone Mountain) it’s my first love and my favorite type of climbing, but I do love to boulder and sport climb as well. I’ve been involved with the Boone Climbing Coalition since its inception and have worked hard for local access and to keep our climbing community; active, organized, and informed. I’ve climbed in the Winds, the Valley, J-Tree, the City of Rocks, Red Rock, Hueco, Sinks, The Needles, Devils Tower, HP-40, the T-Wall, Obed, the Red, the New, Seneca, and a bunch in the Southeast. I’m married to very understanding wife and I have two beautiful daughters that get out with me occasionally. I love climbing and our climbing community!
