Come check out the brand new boulders just 30 minutes north of Asheville.

We have been woring with land owners Southeastern Trust for Parks and Land to open this brand new climbing resource to the public. This "ground tour" day will include a small digital guide of some of the boulder problems that many local climbers have found on the property over the past 4-5 years. It will also include a ground tour, lead by CCC Executive Director Mike Reardon. Trails and official parking are forthcoming in the area. Currently, the trails are planned but not installed. Expect a 5 minute untrailed approach to the first boulders, then up to a 30 minute non trailed hike to other clusters. If you decide to climb, you are climbing at your own risk and climbing activities are not "lead" by the CCC. There are roughly 75 established boulder problems V0-V8 so far. Come on out!

All proceeds will go to our C4 trail team, who will be building the trail at McKinney Gap Boulders.

The parking at McKinney Gap is located right where Scronce Creek Rd turns into Bald Mountain Creek Rd in Burnsville, NC. Look at a map before leaving and don't trust GPS. Meet at the cleared parking area (currently only dirt- gravel forthcoming) at the hairpin turn just past McKinney Gap. Parking overflow will be at various pull outs. Car pool if you can. Wear a mask please.
