Community. Stewardship. Access. In the past six years we have turned the Upstate of South Carolina into a climbing destination area by opening Big Rock and Pumpkintown to climbing, and by extending the open climbing on Table Rock. Two brand new climbing gyms have rooted in the region thanks to this growth in access and community. We have a lot to celebrate and hope you can join us in the celebration!

"Fundamental Climbing Systems": This clinic will cover knots, anchors, belay technique, partner attunemet, and general risk assessment. The goal of the clinic is to provide a deeper understanding of safety systems in an outdoor roped climbing scenario. The clinic will be all 'ground school' and will not entail climbing during the clinic (what you do after the clinic is up to you!). Clinic leader is Eric Dudley (email@example.com), 15 year climber and clinic instructor for Clemson University.
"Self-Rescue Essentials Clinic": SOLD OUT! If you climb enough, there is a good chance you will encounter a situation where either your party or someone nearby has a situation where they need some sort of rescue. In this clinic, Dan Riethmuller from Fox Mountain Guides will teach you the fundamentals of self rescue so you can be better prepared if your climbing outing doesn't go quite as planned!
"Gym to Trad": SOLD OUT! The transition from climbing in the gym to out leading a trad route is daunting. Let the American Alpine Club Atlanta Chapter take out some of the mystery of that big step. Clinic leader contact: Jeremiah Haas (firstname.lastname@example.org) 7 people max. Full day.
"Multi-pitch Efficiency Clinic" with Fox Mountain Guides: SOLD OUT! Smooth transitions at belay stations are the key to an enjoyable multi-pitch outing. In this clinic, Forrest Stavish of Fox Mountain Guides will show you techniques to make your multi-pitch transitions more efficient.

Camping and lodging is not included in your registration. We recommend reserving a camp site within Table Rock State Park. Nearby Haygood Mill also has camping options.
Festival and Clinic Scholarship:
The scholarship is open to climbers who identify with a historically underrepresented and marginalized community. The goal of the scholarship is to provide an equitable opportunity for climbers to attain free access to the SC Climbers Festival and attain free outdoor climbing education. We want to continue to diversify the outdoors and prevent economic barriers. If you would like to apply please email email@example.com with 100-200 words how you would benefit from this scholarship.
Weather??? Refunds???: In the case of severe weather, we will have to cancel with hopeful rescheduling. We can not issue refunds.
Can I bring my dog???: Table Rock State Park allow dogs on leashes.
I am a beginner climber and would like to attend, will you guide me up the rock???: All climbing activities are at your own risk. If you wish for a professional guide service, we recommend taking one of the clinics offered by professional guides. The CCC or its volunteers are not a guide service, however, we welcome new climbers. It is highly likely that if you follow the group of folks headed to the rock for community climb-times that you will find climbing partners. Community climb-time is not a professional service, not sponsored or promoted by the CCC, and climbing is at your own risk.
Kids???: Bring them!
What is the climbing like???: The climbing at Table Rock is always over an hour hike, whether you head to the Pumpkintown Area or the Main Wall Area. We will focus Saturday's stewardship and climbing activity at the Main Wall/ Watergroove Wall and Walker Buttress Areas, a high quality climbing areas that CCC worked to open in coordination with TRSP. Expect a 1 hour hike in. Expect immaculate face climbing, slabs, water grooves, and the occasional arete or crack feature. Although there are some purely bolted lines due to lack of natural pro, most are mixed where removable pro exists. Climbs range from 1-7 pitches. In general, Pumpkintown has better protected routes at tamer grades than the more daunting Main Wall of Table Rock.
Camping/ lodging?: You must reserve your own. We recommend the White Oaks campground within Table Rock State Park since it is a short walk from the trail head and a short walk from Saturday's event space.
