Join American Alpine Club Atlanta Chapter leaders for an anchor and skills building clinic at Big Rock, SC. All proceeds to the CCC and AAC.

Begin the next step in your climbing development by learning how to build a variety of anchors from simple to more complex anchor systems. In this clinic, we’ll discuss the principle of building and assessing solid anchors, we’ll practice building anchors in the bolted scenario, and we’ll practice building anchors in the traditional or natural anchor style (using both active and passive trad gear). Also covered in this clinic will be the American Alpine Club’s “best practices” for change overs, cleaning anchors, and rappelling systems. Join us for a full day of fun and important climbing technique!

All day clinic. Meet at 10:00AM in the Big Rock Parking lot. Bring mask, personal climbing gear like shoes, harness, helmet, ATC, and everything you will need for the day. Trad gear and ropes will be provided by AAC Atlanta Chapter Instructors.
