Sauratown Hoedown
Join us for a weekend of climbing, community, stewardship, and new access at the Sauratown Hoedown! This event gives attendees the opportunity to gain preseason exclusive climbing access at Sauratown Mountain! Registrants will get the chance to build a trail to uncharted cliff access points at Sauratown Mountain. Work as much as you like, then send your favorite routes at Sauratown Mountain without having to compete with a crowd. Hidden Cliff is the new area that CCC recently worked with Camp Hanes to open to climbing. It does not have a trail currently, but we are building one. Hidden Cliffs will have the same climbing season as Sauratown, Dec-March only, with the exception of this one event. There are very few climbs established at the Hidden Cliffs, but there is potential for 20-30 routes in the 40-60' range. Skilled climbers are welcome to establish routes. Event proceeds will go toward the CCC's fundraising efforts for trail building to new cliff access points at Sauratown Mountain.
No dogs allowed. Alcohol, tobacco of any kind, and drugs are prohibited at this event.
Additional Important Information
There is no camping available at Camp Hanes on Friday, October 27th. We suggest staying at nearby Jomeokee Campground or find suitable accommodations for Friday night if traveling from out of the area. For Saturday, please bring basic camping gear (sleeping bag, pillow, etc), as cabins come with just a mattress (no linens).
