McKinney Gap Access Celebration
Join us on April 12 for a special celebration of access, conservation, and community at McKinney Gap! We'll celebrate the CCC's partnership with Southeastern Trust for Parks and Land while enjoying McKinney's climbing.
The day will feature:
- A talk about the history of climbing access at McKinney Gap
- A tour of the climbing area.
- Community climbing, where attendees will break into groups to climb together and enjoy the day. Please note that CCC will NOT BE ORGANIZING CLIMBING ACTIVITIES! All climbing is on your own and at your own risk.

McKinney Gap Directions: Don't trust GPS. Click here for a google map link. Take Hwy 19 near Burnsville. Turn up Scronce Creek road off of Hwy 19. In 4 miles, Scronce Creek Rd becomes Bald Mountain Creek Rd at McKinney Gap. There is a road sign for McKinney Gap, and parking for the McKinney Gap Boulders is about 200 yards further than this sign. The parking is at a hairpin turn and has room for 8+ cars.
In case of inclement weather, this event will be canceled. We are not able to offer refunds in case of calcellation, but your registration fees go directly toward our conservation and access work.
