Big Rock, SC: Access Preserved! We are excited to announce that we have helped Big Rock owners Naturaland Trust purchase a one acre lot adjacent to the new parking lot. This lot will serve as an access buffer and offer more sustainable parking solutions in the future. Without this purchase, a home could have been built right next to the existing parking and trail, causing unforeseen access issues in the future. This purchase helps preserve access into the future. Supporting partners like Trango have made it possible to make these purchases. 

SC Fest Recap: It’s hard to sum up this past incredible weekend at the SC Climbers Festival. All we can say is we love this community and are honored to serve it! This festival has become more than just three days of fun. The festival helps our community be a part of access and stewardship for years to come. Thanks to volunteers, all sponsors, land owners Naturaland Trust and clinic hosts we raised $3,005 at the festival. Thanks title sponsor Onsight Resoles and trail sponsor REI for helping access and stewardship!

Thanks to a matching grant from the Access Fund, we have purchased some fixed hardware to replace rusted bolts on Cooks Wall and Sauratown. Contact ajackson@carolinaclimbers.org if interested.

Sauratown Mountain climbing season runs from Dec 1st to Mar 31st. Remember, NO DOGS, it’s a violation of our lease agreement. We pay $5000/ year for this access. Also, new, more convenient parking in the gravel lot across the field that is behind the Baker Center, see map

Dec 5, 7:00: Reel Rock 14 at Rock Box Bouldering in Winston Salem. Thanks to VF for purchasing rights to the film. Ticket proceeds will go to the CCC.  

Dec 5, 8:00: at Center 45 in Boone, come check out a film by Dizzyfilms called “Nate Draughn, Climbing. Drugs. Redemption.” Proceeds to payoff Buckeye Knob.

Dec 8, 9-3:00: Pilot Mountain State Park Trail Day.

ReGear Outdoors out of Boone, NC will be matching all memberships up to $1,000 throughout the month of November. We currently have 640 members.
