Access Has Arrived at Black Stacks

Rocky Fork State Park, TN

New climbing access at Rocky Fork State Park (RFSP), TN has arrived at their Black Stacks cliffs! Join us in celebrating the first ever open climbing at the Black Stacks Access Celebration on Saturday, June 15th. Expect a ribbon cutting, a topo of Black Stacks routes, a ground tour of the routes, guided climbing by Fox Mountain Guides, and community-led climbing at a serene summertime crag! Registration is limited and only $5 for CCC members, so secure your spot by registering here.

Access History at RFSP

Our journey with RFSP began in 2015, leading to the opening of White House Cliffs in 2020, made possible by the Access Fund and continued support from Trango Climbing. Thanks to your support, climbing access at RFSP is flourishing! Learn more about Rock Fork Routes here.

The achievement underscores the power of collaboration among climbers, park officials, conservationists, support groups, guide companies and gear manufacturers in celebrating and preserving out public lands sustainably. Just a short drive from Asheville and Johnson City, TN, RFSP is a must-visit for climbers!

Grant Funding Secured for Hickory Creek Boulders

Access Fund has confirmed a $2000 grant toward our continual invasive species control project at Hickory Creek Boulders. Thank you, Access Fund! Just last year, we signed an agreement with the land owners at Hickory Creek Boulders and Raven Rock to open these areas to climbing. This access is not permanently protected and part of our access agreement is tied to our invasive species control work. Thanks to the Access Fund, we will be able to conduct a second phase of hiring EcoForesters to help control the highly invasive kudzu vine, with the goal of fostering growth of native species. Join us for a Hickory Creek Kudzu removal work day.
