Maibauer Boulders Climbathon

Join us for the 3rd annual Maibauer Boulders Climbathon presented by La Sportiva on February 22nd. Enjoy the CCC's newest land acquistion while raising funds to pay back our conservation loan to the Access Fund.
How it works

  • Climb as many problems as you can at Maibauer.
  • Record your sends on your climbathon log.
  • Climb a single problem as many times as you like and get after those star chaser points!

At the end of the event, tally up your sends. The climbers with the highest total V points will snag awesome prize packages from La Sportiva and Great Outdoor Provision Co - Chapel Hill!

BIG THANKS to La Sportiva, Triple Crown Bouldering, and Great Outdoor Provision Co - Chapel Hill for your support of this event!

Peregrine Stewardship Updates and Area Closures

Every year, the CCC partners with wildlife biologists from NC Wildlife Resource Commission to replace game cameras that help track the nesting behavior of peregrine falcons at some of North Carolina’s most iconic crags.

In 2024, the falcons at Looking Glass Rock had one of their most successful nesting seasons in years, raising two healthy fledglings!

Check out this video for a behind-the-scenes look at our collaboration with NC Wildlife, and head to our YouTube channel for a more in depth version!

The 2025 peregrine falcon closures are now in place. Visit to the link below to learn about closures and please be sure to plan your climbing accordingly to help protect these incredible birds!

Major Support Raised Through Soddy Daisy

In October 2024, the Soddy Daisy International Bouldering Competition and Chili Cook-Off raised over $8,000 for our Helene C4 Crew’s relief efforts! This incredible event was made possible by the dream team of Triple Crown Bouldering, Ground Up Sales, Southeastern Climbers Coalition, and Stone Fort.

This support fuels our stewardship work, helping us rehabilitate climbing areas impacted by Helene. A huge thank you to the event organizers, participants, and sponsors for making this generosity possible!

The CCC is excited to share exited news about recent support for our Helene relief efforts! Thanks to a generous $29,000 grant from The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina and a $5,000 award from the Hickory Nut Gorge Foundation, our Helene C4 Crew can continue their critical work rehabilitating climbing areas such as Raven Rock, Hickory Creek Boulders, Rumbling Bald, Buffalo Creek, Chimney Rock Village Boulders, and more.

We are deeply grateful to The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, the Hickory Nut Gorge Foundation, and all our Helene Relief Fund donors for making this work possible.
