Enjoy this Southern Piedmont Bouldering gem! The day will feature a talk about the history of climbing access at Stony Mountain Vineyard, a tour of the climbing area, and community climbing, followed by tasty refreshments inside the winery!  

We'll celebrate the CCC's partnership with Chimney Rock State Park while enjoying Rumbling Bald's climbing. Due to systemic impacts of Hurricane Helene, the CCC's Rumble Climbing Competition is postponed until 2026, but this Access Celebration will give us the opportunity to gather and celebrate the Bald as Hickory Nut Gorge heals from Helene. 

The day will feature:

• A talk about the history of climbing access at Rumbling Bald by 40 year Bald climbing veteran, Jeep Gaskin
• A talk about the formation of the State Park and preservation of climbing access by former Lake Lure mayor Jim Proctor and Ranger Robert Townsend
• Guide book release and talk on climbing access conservation by CCC's Executive Director, Mike Reardon
• A ground tour of the climbing area by climbers who know the area well.
• Community climbing, where attendees will break into groups to climb together and enjoy the day. 
• Guided climbing by Fox Mountain Guides will be available for those who choose this registration option!

Explore Weaver's beautiful boulders and this area will become a new favorite! This special celebration of access, conservation, and community will highlight the CCC's partnership with Southeastern Trust for Parks and Land. 

McKinnney Gap Boulders are within Bald Mountain Creek Preserve in Burnsville. Come our on April 12th and get to know this incredible boulder field. 

In 2018, the CCC purchased Buckeye Knob Boulders and secured a recreational easement to the Barn Boulders. Now it is time to celebrate our access, conservation, and community at Buckeye Knob! Join us for a day of community and climbing, led by the one and only Joey Henson!
