Bolt Replacement Campaign!

CCC volunteers have been working fervently to replace aging hardware throughout the Carolinas and beyond. If you clip bolts, please consider helping us maintain them!

Please consider a donation to our bolt replacement fund, located here.

Ukraine Supplies

The Carolina Climbers Coalition is currently asking the climbing community to help us in direct support of the Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing of Ukraine (FAIS) and the people of Ukraine. We have been in direct communication with volunteers of the FAIS over the past week and they have very specifically asked for first aid kits (via monetary donation only), sub-freezing sleeping bags, thermal base layers, and other cold weather gear.

This aid campaign will be split into two ways to help:

Rumble Results

We had a most amazing Rumble this year. The turn out was bigger than ever before! Huge thanks to all volunteers, sponsors, and competitors who came out to support! We had over 250 competitors and over 350 participants! $2000 of the profits of this event were donated to the Town of Lake Lure for their Buffalo Creek Park parking lot expansion. We also hope to have some great NEW ACCESS news coming soon, and each dollar spent at the Rumble will be going towards these new access efforts.

Peregrine Closures, 2022

The Carolina Climbers Coalition work closely with USFS and NC Wildlife Biologists each year to ensure that peregrine falcon closures are accurate per eyrie sites, and help balance conservation of the species with reasonable access to climbing destinations. Thank you, climbers, for respecting these closure zones and for helping protect this amazing species.

Trango and Tenaya renew support for the CCC

Trango and Tenaya Climbing have been pivotal in our success as an organization. Each year, Trango/ Tenaya's support helps us open new climbing areas, maintain impacts on existing climbing areas, and bring together the community. Take a look at this article from Outdoor Sports Wire, highlighting Trango/ Tenayas support of the CCC!

Pisgah Nantahala Forest Plan Updates

Linville Gorge, Short Off, Looking Glass Rock, Whiteside, Big Green, Cedar Rock, all boulders in National Forest, Sam’s Ice, The Dump, and so many more of our beloved climbing areas will be affected by the Pisgah Nantahala Land Management Forest Plan. The Forest Plan will guide forest management for the next twenty years. At the CCC, we have been a part of the planning process since 2012 along with our access partners, Access Fund, and dozens of partnering stakeholders.
