Frances Schueren - SC Rep

I grew up outside of Philadelphia and came south to attend Clemson for college, post college I moved to Greenville, SC where I am currently based. I started climbing at Clemson with the climbing club there and quickly became entranced by outdoor climbing. My first trips along the Blue Ridge escarpment immediately felt like home, and I spent many of my weekends during college (and now) climbing in NC, SC, and across the southeast. I started out primarily bouldering, but have recently been splitting time pretty evenly shuffling pads, clipping bolts, and placing gear. My favorite thing is making up silly objectives and goals- anyone up for riding bikes to go climbing and then maybe kayaking after?

Outside of climbing, I work in local food sourcing and am passionate about sustainable food systems, food equity, and cooking. I also love riding all the bikes all the places, and especially like bike touring and packing. I first got involved with the CCC when I was in college through stewardship days with climbing club, and then as a gym ambassador at Blochaven. I'm stoked to contribute more to this community and organization by helping with event planning, fundraising, and stewardship.
