Sam Compton - At Large Membership Coordinator

Based out of Asheville, I try to get out and enjoy every bit of climbing that I can: bouldering, sport, trad, and a solid gym session when I can't get out to the crag. I've fallen in love with so much of the climbing that the Carolinas have to offer, but can most often be found at Looking Glass, Rumbling Bald, and the often-overlooked McKinney Gap boulders.

I care deeply about our community, our environment, and the public & private lands on which numerous climbing opportunities are made available through the incredible work of the Carolina Climber's Coalition. Over the last couple years I have worked closely with the CCC, building and clearing trails, helping to plan and run events, and serving on multiple committees as a community member. Through my work as the Membership Coordinator, I hope to help cultivate and expand an inclusive and empowered community of rock climbers that support climbing access and encourage one another at the gym, the crag, and beyond.
