Wade Parker - Southern Piedmont Rep
Originally from Canada, but homegrown in the Southeastern US, I like to call myself a true Carolinian. The Charlotte area has been my home for over 33 years and I love living in the Southern Piedmont area. Pinpointed in the middle of some of the best climbing areas in the Southeast, It’s a great place to live as a climber.
Crowders Mountain is my home crag and where I started climbing almost 30 years ago, when a cool one chance trip with my uncle for the weekend, turned into a lifelong passion. He wanted to show me the ropes and see if I liked climbing...I guess I did. Between day trips to Crowders and weekends in the NC Mountains, I never looked back once I fell in love with climbing. Spending my time with some of Carolina’s finest old school climbers to learn and push limits was my absolute favorite thing to do. Well, and get sandbagged and heckled since I was the youngster of the group lol. Some of my most fond memories.
My favorite styles of climbing are Trad “NC style” and Big Wall. I’m married to a wonderful understanding wife of almost 20 years and have no kids, except for a lot of 4 legged ones including dogs, cats and horses. I’ve been a sign builder / sign and graphics installer for about 28 years and now own a sign company that operates out of Clover, SC.
I’m excited to join the CCC board and look forward to serving as the steward for the Southern Piedmont area. Giving back to the community and climbing areas that still continually give to me, is truly an honor.
