Wade Parker - Southern Piedmont Rep
Originally from Canada, but homegrown in the Southeastern US, I like to
call myself a true Carolinian. The Carolinas have been my home for over
34 years and I live in the Southern Piedmont area. Crowders Mountain is
my home crag and where I started climbing almost 30 years ago, when a
cool one chance trip for the weekend, turned into a lifelong passion.
I never looked back once I fell in love with climbing. I moved to the
Charlotte area and focused a great deal of time learning the craft.
Fortunately for me, I came up under the wings of some of the Carolina’s
finest old school climbers. Learning and pushing limits with them, was my
absolute favorite thing to do, besides getting sandbagged and heckled
since I was the youngster of the group lol. Some of my most fond
My favorite styles of climbing are Trad “NC style” and Big Wall. I’m married
to a wonderful understanding wife of 21 years with no kids, except for a lot
of 4 legged ones including dogs, cats and horses. I’ve been a sign builder /
sign and graphics installer for about 30 years and now own a sign company
that operates out of Clover, SC.
I’m excited to move to the Vice Presidents position for the CCC and look
forward to giving back to the community and climbing areas that still
continually give to me. It is truly an honor.
