July 1 2024 Peregrine Falcon Closure Lift Laurel Knob

Great news! NC Wildlife biologists have confirmed a successful peregrine falcon nest at Laurel Knob this year with TWO fledglings at the new Eyrie on the far left of Laurel Knob. CCC are proud owners of Laurel Knob and we couldn’t be more excited that this conserved land is home to successful breeding of this great species. Good news for climbers as well; the falcon closure will lift July 1 this year instead of Aug 15. The fledglings are learning fast and departing the nest shortly.
