Annual Meeting - 2017
The CCC's annual meeting was held on October 6th at the Fosce Community Center. 50+ people were there to hear updates on the year and a discussion of the future of the CCC. If you missed the meeting, here are the highlights and the full presentation:
- We acquired Buckeye Knob and easements on the Barn Boulders
- This year we received over $73,000 in grants
- Once a new trail is complete, Eagle Rock in Chimney Rock State Park will be open for climbing
- We have a new Sauratown access lease that runs until 2037
- The climbing season at Table Rock, SC has been extended by over a month
- Hidden Valley got a new kiosk
- Big Rock, SC got a new parking lot and trail
- Working with the Access Fund, we got the forest planning group to agree to fixed anchor language in the proposal for the Nantahala-Pisgah National Forest
- Board terms have been extended to 3 years instead of 2
- Listening / input sessions and board discussions around the structure and the sustainable future of the CCC are underway
- We gave this year's Kayah Gaydish Stewardship Awards to: Jon Lane, Tony McGee and Wes Cooler
