CCC Board Position Opening: Southern Piedmont Representative

The Carolina Climbers Coalition is seeking a Southern Piedmont Representative to join our volunteer Board of Directors.

Role Overview

This regional board position supports stewardship, access, and community engagement efforts across the Southern Piedmont. Key areas include Crowders, Dixon, Asheboro, Stony Mountain Vineyard, and the Inner Peaks community.

Core Responsibilities

Access & Stewardship Coordination

  • Serve as a primary point of contact with land managers and local stakeholders
  • Support access initiatives and stewardship projects in the region

Community Engagement

  • Build relationships with local climbers, gyms, and partners
  • Represent the CCC at local events and help grow community involvement

Fundraising & Outreach

  • Support basic fundraising efforts and membership growth in the region

General Board Responsibilities

  • Attend quarterly board meetings and participate in regular conference calls
  • Check CCC email regularly (1–2x per week)
  • Be physically present for at least one meeting per year
  • Organize or support at least one public CCC event annually
  • Vote on board initiatives and support broader CCC priorities
  • Support and initiate fundraising efforts 

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Is passionate about Southern Piedmont climbing areas and stewardship
  • Has a solid understanding of local crags, routes, and access issues
  • Brings enthusiasm for growing and connecting the Carolina climbing community
  • Has experience or interest in fundraising and community outreach
