Sophia Stouse - C4 Project Manager

Sophia grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, taking annual family hiking trips in Western North Carolina to escape the summer heat. She got a taste for conservation work during two seasons with Montana Conservation Corps, where she was also introduced to outdoor sport climbing. The mountains of North Carolina called, so she moved to Asheville and guided backpacking trips in the Smokies and Pisgah National Forest for three seasons. In 2024, Sophia joined the C4 crew post hurricane Helene, bringing her chainsaw skills to clear trails of downed trees. Sophia is passionate about outdoor recreation, and creating access for people to love wild places. As C4 project manager, she enjoys creating sustainable trails and infrastructure that helps people enjoy climbing while respecting and appreciating the natural environment. When not climbing, she can be found trail running and backpacking.
