Sauratown Guide 2023

Huge thanks to Emil Briggs for creating this great guide book to Sauratown! Please refer to the guide and our landing page for rules and open season at Sauratown. If you enjoy climbing access, please be sure to check your annual CCC membership status on our join page. CCC membership is not required for access, but it is the only way we can continue to work on access and stewardship at places like Sauratown.

Staff

The Carolina Climbers Coalition is comprised of everyday climbers from North and South Carolina, who represent a wide range of backgrounds, climbing styles, and experience. Feel free to contact the CCC. We represent your climbing interests!

We are occasionally looking for new Staff. If interested, contact info@carolinaclimbers.org

Partnership with Preserving a Picturesque America

The CCC has joined forces with talented local artists from Preserving a Picturesque America (PAPA) to create one-of-a-kind original pieces of art depicting the places we love and must protect in the Hickory Nut Gorge.

Half of the funds from the purchase of each piece of art go directly toward furthering the CCC's mission of protecting, preserving and expanding climbing in the Carolinas. The other half will go to supporting the artists.

Please see the PDF for our public 2022 Annual Meeting. This meeting was conducted partially via zoom on Nov. 29, and completed at Black Dome Mountain Sports in Asheville on Dec 10, 2022 from 6-8. The evening will include films about climbing pioneers Doug Reed and Kitty Calhoun, as well as raffles, food trucks, and WIcked Weed beer.
